Knockabout 1979
Tai Po and Siu Bo (Leung Kar Yan and Yuen Biao) are two tricky wanderers who, in a constant search for a quick buck, spend their time looking for victims for their simple cons. One day their scheme backfires when they are outwitted by a seemingly innocuous customer at a local restaurant and then receive a sound thrashing when they later try to apprehend him. The man is soon revealed to be Silver Fox (Liu Chia Yung) and the two manage to persuade him to be their master. Silver Fox teaches them various skills, but unknown to the hapless two, their new instructor is a wanted bandit who is really training them to be his cohorts. On discovering this, Tai Po is killed and Siu Bo barely escapes with his life. Now having to fend for himself, Siu Bo happens upon a portly beggar (Sammo) who had earlier given him a beating. After a while, the beggar teaches Siu Bo his own advanced skills - a chance to see some extreme training from the duo. Having thoroughly improved and with a new teacher, Siu Bo is now ready to exact revenge on Silver Fox.

Kao (Lau Kong) is a scholarly swordsman of dubious character who vows revenge on the man who killed his family. Misled by Kao’s initial kindness, Chang agrees to fight Pak (Lee Hoi-san), the ruthless martial arts master who killed Kao’s family. Joining him is Tsing (Damian Lau), a care-free sword-for-hire who develops a bond with Chang.
After narrowly defeating Pak, Tsing explains that he has been hired to kill Chang but refuses to do so and the pair confront the treacherous Kao in a deadly battle.

The Haunted Cop Shop 1987

pink shows herself to Sneaky Ming and leads him into the clubhouse that was, for a lethal game of mahjong. Of course his opponents are

Chow plays a meek sandwich delivery boy whose good-hearted nature is sadly unappreciated by those around him. On his regular round,
Chow delivers near a Judo school and has his eyes firmly fixed on a beautiful student there (Chung). However, the bullying teacher notices
his interest and, as an admirer of her himself, humiliates his timid rival. Realising he is no match for the teacher, Chow searches for a kung-fu
master to teach him the vital skills he needs. Unfortunately for him, he becomes the target of a fake kung-fu master (Ng Man Tat) who
convinces Chow that he was actually Bruce Lee's teacher. This charlatan master teaches his new student a number of weird and wonderful
kung-fu techniques while also relieving him of most of his money. However strange his new knowledge is though, Chow finds these bogus
techniques of great benefit in winning the hand of his beloved and defeats his cackling nemesis. Although victorious, he now finds that he has

In a return to the talky antics of Justice, My Foot! and Hail the Judge, Stephen Chow plays Chan Mong-Gut, a famous Chinese lawyer and
merciless trickster back in 1899. When Chan Mong-Gut not busy doing lawyer-type things, he spends his time annoying the locals, fooling

Chan decides to leave China and defend Foon - in a British court. Aiding him is Karen Mok in a “flower-vase” role as Chan’s estranged wife,
who was supposed to have studied law overseas, but actually studied fashion design. This puts Chan in a tough spot, especially when
Foon appears doomed by the byzantine rules of British law.

The Magnificent Butcher 1979

The film begins modestly enough with Sammo comfortably playing an uncouth lout named Lam Sai-wing or simply 'Butcher Wing,' who
happens to be a student of the legendary Hung Gar master and hero, Wong Fei-hung. Butcher Wing doesn't waste time putting his kung fu
to use beating up a man he mistakenly takes for a thief. This misunderstanding leads kung fu master Kao (Lee Hoi-sang) to challenges
Fei-hung. Just as things are settling down, Kao's wicked son Tai-hoi (Fung Hak-on) kidnaps a woman who turns out to be the wife of Wing's
long-lost brother. More misunderstandings ensue as Tai-hoi pits the two brothers against each other. The woman is eventually brought
home by Wing, but he also nabs Kao's goddaughter, Lam Hsing (JoJo Chan). This leads to tragedy when Tai-hoi turns his deviant thoughts
to her and she winds up dead while still at Wing's home.
Now, Wing is in a real pickle. Fei-hung is out of town and Kao and his oddball cronies come looking for revenge. Wing is only saved by his
two martial brothers and a drunken beggar (Fan Mei-sheng). Following some kung fu training with the beggar, Wing discovers that his brother
has been killed by Tai-hoi. Before Fei-hung returns, Wing seeks his revenge and is forced to face Kao and his powerful 'Cosmic Palm' technique.

The Butterfly Murders 1979
A printer is found dead after being visited by a man who claimed to have discovered eight pages of unpublished documents detailing the
chilling fate of Shum Castle. The author is supposedly Fong, a noted scholar who had witnessed a strange occurrence where hundreds of
deadly butterflies terrorized the inhabitants. The documents turn out to be fake, but the events are real and Fong himself acts as witness
and narrator for the viewer. Word spreads that Shum, the castle's ruler is still alive and several well known fighters come to his aid. Tien
Fung leads members from the Tien Clan. He is joined by a woman known only as the Green Shadow who performs a lot of high-wire antics.
They arrive at the castle to find it nearly deserted except for Scholar Fong, Shum, his wife, and a mute servant who are hiding below in a
labyrinth of tunnels. Tension mounts as several attacks by the butterflies take place, leaving their victims dead by poison injected by
hundreds of "bites." It eventually becomes clear that a mysterious assassin in Black armor is controlling the butterflies. He is revealed as
one of three vicious killers known as the Thunders, all enemies of Tien Clan. The other two Thunders are Li Kim, AKA "1000 Hands," a
master of small hand weapons and Kwok, AKA "Magic Fire," a master of flame and explosives. They arrive at Shum Castle and everyone
battles it out in a bloody three-way match to decide the fate of Shum Castle and the martial world.

Notes: The back side of the cover lists this as one of several New Wave classics "remastered with the latest HD Digital technology,"
yet this cannot be true. This is a disappointing release from Mei Ah as they did little or nothing to restore it. The picture is dominated by
a green tint and heavy green stains that come and go. Resolution is moderately low and scratches can also be seen frequently. There is
a slight image flutter at times and contrast is somewhat low. There are some odd edits in the film that appear to be film related and not
disc related.

Tai Po and Siu Bo (Leung Kar Yan and Yuen Biao) are two tricky wanderers who, in a constant search for a quick buck, spend their time looking for victims for their simple cons. One day their scheme backfires when they are outwitted by a seemingly innocuous customer at a local restaurant and then receive a sound thrashing when they later try to apprehend him. The man is soon revealed to be Silver Fox (Liu Chia Yung) and the two manage to persuade him to be their master. Silver Fox teaches them various skills, but unknown to the hapless two, their new instructor is a wanted bandit who is really training them to be his cohorts. On discovering this, Tai Po is killed and Siu Bo barely escapes with his life. Now having to fend for himself, Siu Bo happens upon a portly beggar (Sammo) who had earlier given him a beating. After a while, the beggar teaches Siu Bo his own advanced skills - a chance to see some extreme training from the duo. Having thoroughly improved and with a new teacher, Siu Bo is now ready to exact revenge on Silver Fox.

Kao (Lau Kong) is a scholarly swordsman of dubious character who vows revenge on the man who killed his family. Misled by Kao’s initial kindness, Chang agrees to fight Pak (Lee Hoi-san), the ruthless martial arts master who killed Kao’s family. Joining him is Tsing (Damian Lau), a care-free sword-for-hire who develops a bond with Chang.
After narrowly defeating Pak, Tsing explains that he has been hired to kill Chang but refuses to do so and the pair confront the treacherous Kao in a deadly battle.

If the villainous groups are not bad enough, Dirty Tiger and Crazy Frog are engaged in a relentless battle for supremacy along the way - a dispute which loses them the Armour on more than one occasion. The true ownership is finally settled in an intricate fight between the uneasy duo and their ruthless rivals.

In a return to the talky antics of Justice, My Foot! and Hail the Judge, Stephen Chow plays Chan Mong-Gut, a famous Chinese lawyer and

Chan decides to leave China and defend Foon - in a British court. Aiding him is Karen Mok in a “flower-vase” role as Chan’s estranged wife,
who was supposed to have studied law overseas, but actually studied fashion design. This puts Chan in a tough spot, especially when
Foon appears doomed by the byzantine rules of British law.

The Magnificent Butcher 1979
When a kung master's goddaughter is murdered by his own lustful son, Wong Fei-hung's mischievous student Butcher Wing is blamed.

The film begins modestly enough with Sammo comfortably playing an uncouth lout named Lam Sai-wing or simply 'Butcher Wing,' who
happens to be a student of the legendary Hung Gar master and hero, Wong Fei-hung. Butcher Wing doesn't waste time putting his kung fu
to use beating up a man he mistakenly takes for a thief. This misunderstanding leads kung fu master Kao (Lee Hoi-sang) to challenges
Fei-hung. Just as things are settling down, Kao's wicked son Tai-hoi (Fung Hak-on) kidnaps a woman who turns out to be the wife of Wing's
long-lost brother. More misunderstandings ensue as Tai-hoi pits the two brothers against each other. The woman is eventually brought
home by Wing, but he also nabs Kao's goddaughter, Lam Hsing (JoJo Chan). This leads to tragedy when Tai-hoi turns his deviant thoughts
to her and she winds up dead while still at Wing's home.
Now, Wing is in a real pickle. Fei-hung is out of town and Kao and his oddball cronies come looking for revenge. Wing is only saved by his
two martial brothers and a drunken beggar (Fan Mei-sheng). Following some kung fu training with the beggar, Wing discovers that his brother
has been killed by Tai-hoi. Before Fei-hung returns, Wing seeks his revenge and is forced to face Kao and his powerful 'Cosmic Palm' technique.

The Butterfly Murders 1979
A printer is found dead after being visited by a man who claimed to have discovered eight pages of unpublished documents detailing the
chilling fate of Shum Castle. The author is supposedly Fong, a noted scholar who had witnessed a strange occurrence where hundreds of
deadly butterflies terrorized the inhabitants. The documents turn out to be fake, but the events are real and Fong himself acts as witness
and narrator for the viewer. Word spreads that Shum, the castle's ruler is still alive and several well known fighters come to his aid. Tien
Fung leads members from the Tien Clan. He is joined by a woman known only as the Green Shadow who performs a lot of high-wire antics.
They arrive at the castle to find it nearly deserted except for Scholar Fong, Shum, his wife, and a mute servant who are hiding below in a
labyrinth of tunnels. Tension mounts as several attacks by the butterflies take place, leaving their victims dead by poison injected by
hundreds of "bites." It eventually becomes clear that a mysterious assassin in Black armor is controlling the butterflies. He is revealed as
one of three vicious killers known as the Thunders, all enemies of Tien Clan. The other two Thunders are Li Kim, AKA "1000 Hands," a
master of small hand weapons and Kwok, AKA "Magic Fire," a master of flame and explosives. They arrive at Shum Castle and everyone
battles it out in a bloody three-way match to decide the fate of Shum Castle and the martial world.

Notes: The back side of the cover lists this as one of several New Wave classics "remastered with the latest HD Digital technology,"
yet this cannot be true. This is a disappointing release from Mei Ah as they did little or nothing to restore it. The picture is dominated by
a green tint and heavy green stains that come and go. Resolution is moderately low and scratches can also be seen frequently. There is
a slight image flutter at times and contrast is somewhat low. There are some odd edits in the film that appear to be film related and not
disc related.
